What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to relax and move easily. As treatments are carried out while you remain fully clothed, loose-fitting clothing is ideal. If you’re attending for Myofascial Release, it’s helpful to avoid bulky jumpers or thick layers where possible.
Does treatment hurt?
Both Kinesiology and Myofascial Release use gentle, hands-on techniques. Most people find treatment relaxing and comfortable.
With Myofascial Release, you may occasionally feel mild discomfort when working on an area of restriction, but treatment should never be excessively painful. I’ll always work within your comfort level and adjust techniques as needed.
How long is a session?
Appointments typically last around 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the treatment and your individual needs.
Your first appointment may be a little longer, as we’ll spend time discussing your health history, current concerns and goals before beginning treatment.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies from person to person.
Some people notice positive changes after just one or two sessions, while others with longer-term or more complex concerns may benefit from ongoing treatment over a period of time.
Following your initial consultation, I’ll discuss a treatment plan that’s tailored to your individual needs, with no obligation to book further appointments.
Is Kinesiology suitable for children?
Yes. Kinesiology is suitable for people of all ages, including children.
Treatment is always adapted to the individual’s age, needs and comfort level. It uses gentle, non-invasive techniques designed to support overall wellbeing in a calm and relaxed environment.
What is muscle testing?
Muscle testing is a gentle technique used in Kinesiology to assess how your body responds to light pressure.
Rather than measuring strength, it helps identify areas where your body may be under stress or out of balance. This information helps guide the treatment, allowing each session to be tailored to your individual needs.
Muscle testing is painless and does not involve needles or invasive procedures.
Can I combine treatments?
Absolutely.
Kinesiology and Myofascial Release complement each other very well and can often be used within the same appointment where appropriate.
Combining therapies allows treatment to address both structural tension and the wider physical, emotional and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to your symptoms. Your treatment will always be tailored to what’s most suitable for you.
Do I need a diagnosis before attending?
No. You don’t need a medical diagnosis to book an appointment.
Many people seek treatment because they’re experiencing pain, tension, stress or simply don’t feel quite themselves.
If you have an existing medical diagnosis or are receiving treatment from your GP or another healthcare professional, please let me know during your consultation so your treatment can be planned accordingly.
Kinesiology and Myofascial Release are complementary therapies and are not intended to replace medical care. If you have severe, unexplained or worsening symptoms, it’s important to seek advice from your GP or another appropriate healthcare professional first.
